Activate Microsoft Windows Vista on the telephone
If the PC is not connected to the Internet and the System window is
open, activate Vista on the telephone, as follows:
1.
On the System window, click on the Show me other ways to activate
link to open the Windows Activation window.
2.
When prompted to Find available phone numbers for activation,
click the drop-down and select the name of the nearest Microsoft location.
3.
When prompted on How do you want to activate Windows?, select Use
the automated phone system, and then click Next.
4.
On the Activate Windows Now window, verify that there is a phone
number for the selected region. For example; the toll-free number for
the United States is 1-866-740-1256.
5.
Call the telephone number for the desired Microsoft Vista
activation service, and follow the instructions.
6.
When prompted, enter each set of six numbers. You may either speak
the numbers or press the numbers on the phone keypad.
7.
When given a series of numbers by the activation system, enter the
numbers into the fields as instructed.
8.
When the numbers generated by the phone system are entered into
all the fields, click Next to verify the new confirmation ID.
