Vista instalation without DVD
ronnin426850 <ronnin426850.2sx8vu[ at ]no-mx.forums.net> 6/29/2007 4:03:45 AM
What I want: To install Vista x64 Ultimate What I DO have: Working XP x86 Pro SP2, Image file of the DVD(copied the dvd on one of my friends' PC) What I do NOT have: DVD drive(that's bad, I know:confused:), removeable media, capable of mounting the DVD. So, I copied the Vista Ultimate x64 DVD to an image file. So far so good. But x64 Vista can not be installed over x86 XP. The only chance is to boot from the DVD. But the virtual drive I mounted it on is not available on boot-time. I tried to copy the files on HDD, but I can not boot from it, every time XP gets started instead of Vista set-up. What should I do?? -- ronnin426850
