WSUS 3 Replica Servers Issue
Funkyfin2000 7/4/2007 2:14:01 PM
Basically....we are running a WSUS server back at base connected direct to MS
and then have 75 satellite establishments which all have Servers which are
running as REPLICAS.

For some reason when I look at the Console under Downstream Servers all my
servers are showing as REPLICAS but my Installed/Not Applicable status is
showing as 0% on all but 1 of the servers!!! Why is this! It just won't show
what updates the servers have installed??

The servers are listed under Computers are machines that are connected to my
WSUS as well and they are receving and reporting status in there no problems,
most of them saying 99% or 100% updated.

Why would i get 0% listed under Downstream Servers for my 74 servers?

Check here for an example of what i mean:

any ideas?

Cheers

Richard

Hmmmm....... 75 replicas synchronizing from one master server.

What *policy* is applied to those replica servers?
Where are they supposed to be getting their updates from?
What target group(s) did you assign your replica server(s) to?
Are they reporting to the assigned *update* server?
Are they contacting the assigned update server at all?
Are the update(s) approved for installation for the assigned target group(s)
that contain these replica servers?

What results do you get from running the Client Diagnostic Tool on the
replica server(s)?

OR... maybe you've configured AU Option #3 for these servers (recommended,
btw) and nobody's actually installed the updates that have been detected?

I see that the pie chart(s) show that 'admin4094' needs 5 updates.

Which five updates are these that are needed?

Are these "Needed" updates actually APPROVED for INSTALLATION in the target
group that this replica server belongs to?
