Best Practice for changing Web Port for WSUS
"Simon Gronow" <srg[ at ]babcom.net.au> 5/29/2007 10:31:49 AM
Hi Guys,

I got a server running WSUS ver 2.0 which is on Port 80, I want to change it
to 8530.

Chaning workstations - thats easy.

Server - is it just a case of changing IIS? or remove WSUS ver 2 (keeping
SQL data, files, etc) and reinstalling? or other

What is the best practice to do this?

Thanks

Just changing the port could cause if you later apply a patch or upgrade.
For WSUS 2.0, the best practice is to uninstall and reinstall using 8530.

In WSUS 3.0, I believe we added a command in WSUSUtil to change this.
