WSUS to pass cmd line args to patch ?
andyjgw <andyjgw[ at ]gmail.com> 5/24/2007 11:00:31 AM
Per the title - running up a slight problem applying W2k3 SP2 to some
machines whose C: drives are a little on the tight side for space. If
I could pass an argument to the installer so it kicks off and creates
the uninstall directory to the alternative loaction I specify, that
would be great.

I can't find any documentation on how I might accomplish this, so
assume it's not an out-of-the-box solution.

Any suggestions how I might do this (short of rebuilding the boxes in
question, or running the patches manually) ?

Thanks

AW

It is not possible to do the equivalent of changing the arguments passed to
the update using WSUS/Windows Update with the updates you are Sync'ing from
Microsoft Update.

I believe this is possible with System Center Essentials or SMS if download
the update and publish it manually.

Ah

OK, thanks for the advice Travis. I can stop searching now :)

One for the wish-list I think ?
