can't uninstall WSUS3
"Kerry Hoskin" <kjho[ at ]npm.ac.uk> 6/19/2007 2:08:24 PM
our WSUS3 installation started to fail with various Windows internal
database errors. I'm trying to uninstall WSUS but it fails with an error.
The database has been uninstalled and the WSUS entree in add/remove programs
has gone! But I now can't uninstall or reinstall WSUS. I get an eventID
11725 Removal Failed, along with a number of ASP.NET errors eventid 1309.

Please attach the logs at %temp%\wsussetup*.log so that we figure out why
and possible workaround.

thanks,

after a reinstall the initail problem has returned (actually the reinstall
went OK and everything was working, but after I gave the server a reboot
today the problem returned)

I get errors with the Internal Database, it fails to start, the first error

Re: can't uninstall WSUS3

Ok disabled all the Antivirus services including it SQL database etc, gave
the box a kick and its still giving hte same Internal Database errors when
it boots up.

First error to appear is

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7024
Date: 26/06/2007
Time: 19:23:21
User: N/A
Computer: ALDERNEY
Description:
The Windows Internal Database (MICROSOFT##SSEE) service terminated with
service-specific error 3417 (0xD59).

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I also get a popup when I login to the box

Net Service Configuration
The specified service does not exsist as an installed service

I think this is something to do with the SQL 2005 Express installation that
already exsits on the box

Cheers

Kerry
