Date and time format in reports
johbot 6/4/2007 11:16:00 PM
I have migrated from WSUS 2.0 to 3.0 and am happy with the result excpet for
the date format in the reports.
They are US date formats (MMDDYY) and I would like AUS formats (DDMMYY).
Where do I set the preferred format?

This is almost always a function of the Regional Settings on the computer
running the MMC.

So, I'd say, start with Control Panel | Regional and Language Options |
Standards and formats

and change it from English (United States) to English (Australia)

Lawrence,

Thank you for your reply.

I am aware that the Control Panel usually controls such matters and this was
the first place that I checked. The settings via control panel are what I
want them to be and all other programs that present a time and date do in the
Australian manner.

Lawrence,

Thank you for your response. I wish it was that easy. My regional sttings
are what I need for every other program. The WSUS reporting tool is the only
one giving me grief

The reports should be following your date and time format that the rest of
the system does.
Can you provide a screenshot of your control panel settings and a section of
the UI that shows the incorrect format?

I've verified on my system that the report options summary follow the
English (Australia) short (dd-mm-yy) date format, and that the preview pane
for updates show the long form of the date.

Note that once you export to PDF or Excel, the format is set for the
exported report.

Don't forget that there are two regional settings. Current user and default
user. Services use the default user whereas interactive apps may use the current
user setting. WSUS may be using the wrong (read not the one you expect) setting.

Working with one of our testers, we have verified that the Deadline in the
approval section of an Updates reports is not following the correct date
time format.
We'll file a bug and follow up it up for possible inclusion in a future
release.

The report options summary at the end of the report is correct.

There currently is no workaround.
