First, I would confirm with Symantec that BackupExec 11d supports the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition database server.

Actually, it only operates on Named Pipes =and= the SSMS tool must be installed on the WSUS server.

Why would you want to detach the databse, and change an alleged double backslash problem, when you don't even have documentation on the database, and have no knowledge of whether what you're doing will break your WSUS server or not?
