Error Code: 8007f004

The error code 8007f004 means that the logged in user does not have
sufficient privilidges to install the updates.

Is there a way round this without having to walk round to every machine and
logging on as local admin??

What is it that you're trying to do; and why is a logged in user trying to
do something that's designed to happen automatically by the *system*?

Lawrence

we have group policy set to download and notify which works for our
particular situation. Only one machine has experienced this issue today, all
of the others have worked with the users able to click on install and have
all the updates complete without any issues. So why is just one machine
playing up?

Regards

Fair enough... but "Download and Notify" *requires* that the user tasked
with installing the updates be a member of the local Administrators group.

Most likely because *that* user is not a member of the local Administrators
group on the PC where the update(s) are being installed.
