Not Needed but I know they are Dan5265 6/27/2007 7:10:04 PM WSUS 2.0 SP1 on Windows 2003 server and XP Professional clients w/Office 2003. We have deployed a number of MS apps like Visio, Office MUI packs and Project to users in our environment through AD managed software installations running under the logged on user context with elevated rights. Although I know there are security patches available for these products, our WSUS server and an MBSA scan are indicating the patches are "not needed" for these machines. Interestingly, if I manually install any or all of the aforementioned apps on a machine while logged on as an administrator, WSUS and MBSA then indicate the patches are needed for these machines. Is this expected behavior or is something going wrong here? Thanks for any help.

Are you sure the automated installation doesn't have the patches included? What happens if you try to install the patches in question by hand (having downloaded them from the Microsoft Download Center)? Harry.
