Each month when we approve updates on WSUS, we send a notification to our branch office IT staff to let them know what updates are being installed. In WSUS 2.0, I would screenshot the list in the WSUS console and stitch them together, then send the image -- since there was no way to export the list.
I figured WSUS 3.0 would have the standard "export list" option since it is using MMC, but so far, I haven't found anything. I created a custom update view with the criteria and columns I want to export, but I can't find any way to do it. I would be happy with a CSV, TSV, XML, Excel, plain text, anything!
Any ideas on how to do what I want in the MMC console? Or do I need to look into the scripting APIs?
Thanks, Matt Schultz

Solved... well, sort of. Even though there's no visible Copy option, you can highlight a bunch of updates, hit CTRL+C, and paste into Excel or Notepad. Works pretty slick. Too bad there's no obvious export or copy option, though.
Gotta love those hidden features! ;-)

Or.. you could use Reports | Update Tabular Status "This report shows a summary of the update status in a tabular view, suitable for exporting to a spreadsheet".
Yep.. them "hidden features" are usually the hardest to use!

To follow up with necessary details.... for those still looking for the "hidden features". :-)
After running Reports | Update Tabular Status or Reports | Computer Tabular Status, right click anywhere on the details pane, select Export, and select your desired export format (Excel or PDF).
Or, click on the floppy disk in the toolbar (the Export button), and select Excel or PDF.
