Anyone have any idea what causes this? I'm trying to approve IE7 for rollout to our company, as it has now finally been certified for use with Kronos.
When I got to WSUS and attempt to approve the Windows Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows XP update, I get the error:
Unable to display the Microsoft Software License Terms for this update; the update will not be approved
Anyone have any ideas on how to combat this? I'd really like to roll out IE 7 soon now that we can.
Thanks in advance!

*bump*
it appears related to the fact that I have the system set to only download once approved, however appears to need the lisence file downloaded, BEFORE I can approve it .. bit of a chicken & egg situation :)
if no one has a solution, I may just temp change it to download ALL updates, let it get this one, then set it back. Seems a bit overkill on bandwidth wastage tho ..

License files are part of the meta-data that will normally download regardless of your other settings. You'll have everything necessary to approve the update pre-downloaded, including the license.
Try right clicking the update in an update view, and look at the file information. See if there's anything helpful. I don't recall exactly where - but there's UI to try downloading failed files again.

Well, i found the section where it lets me look at the files, and it lists a few txt files, and one large .exe file for this update. Using the log i found where it was expecting to find the lisence file (LicenseAgreement file does not exist: g:\WSUS\WsusContent\BB \B763712EE43F0FD0430236022685AE9E6E5707BB.txt) So i went to that directory, created a txt file with that name, and voila, i can now approve the update.
Seems for some reason it missed downloading the lisence at some point, not sure how/why, but its solved now it seems :)
Thanks for your help!

If you encounter this again, you might also try executing the command 'wsusutil reset', which will initiate the download of any missing content. It's possible that the WSUS database thinks that file was downloaded, but it got "lost", or deleted subsequent to the successful download.
