Upgrade WSUS Build 2.0.0.2620 to WSUS 3.0 troyboy 6/19/2007 3:14:03 PM I hope this has not been addressed but I would like to upgrade to 3.0 from my current build. (Background) I have WSUS 2 installed on a server running Win2003 RC2 with SQL Server 2000. They both reside on the same server. Will there be any ill effects if I do install verison 3.0 with the included database engine. I'm not concerned if I can't transfer the database as I only have 275 workstations.

With 275 workstations, you only need to use the Windows internal database and you should be good. Do a fresh install of WSUS is the simple answer. Use WSUSMigration Tools if you want to migrate your approvals, TargetGroups, etc. But with 275 workstations, why bother.
