Bug in v3.0 MMC?
TimS 6/18/2007 10:16:02 PM
I am not sure if this is a bug or not: I was viewing a new custom update
view I had created, and really just sort of exploring the new MMC interface.
On the right-hand 'Actions' panel, in the View section, I chose 'New Window
from Here.' When I did this, instead of opening a new window, it changed the
view of the existing one to just display my custom update view, and nothing
else. That is all that is displayed now in the left-hand panel where the
tree of objects (WSUS server, computers, updates, options, etc) should
appear. And even when I close down the MMC and re-launch it, that is all I
am able to get.
How can I correct this, and is this the intended behavior of the product?

Tim

Un-maximize the new window you just created within the overall MMC window.
MMC is MDI (multi-document interface) and the new window appeared maximized
over your initial one. MDI means multiple documents are hosted within the
bounds of the overall MMC window.
