architectural question
"BLMuzzy" <bob.muzzy[ at ]planitax.com> 5/14/2007 9:41:23 PM
I have about 20 servers at a data center that I'd like to manage w/ WSUS.
We have a fiber connection to them from the office but our lease will be up
in a year and I think we'll probably move, giving us a garden variety T1 or
something.

My question is should I set up an internally synchronized WSUS servers at
the data center & the office, or maintain 2 independent ones. given the
slower connection we'll have in future.

thanks,
Bob

Have you considered a replica DSS to sync approvals, but setting the DSS to
sync content from WU instead of the USS?
That way you can do your administration from just one machine, and have the
approvals replicate.

If those TLAs mean Down/Up Stream Servers, no, I hadn't. But it sounds
like the best solution. Is that a new feature of v3.0? .

thanks!

Yes, that's a new feature with WSUS 3.0.
