I doubt this is of much significance, since the WUA was, most likely, still written to the (released) BITS 2.0 API.
BITS 2.5 provides the following features in > addition to the BITS 2.0 feature set: . Support for custom HTTP headers. > . Support for certificate-based client authentication to help secure > HTTP transports. > . Support for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). > . Improved upload performance.
None of these, methinks, really have any immediate significance to WSUS or the WUA. They'd all require the product be written to support those features, and since the release of BITS 2.5 post-dates the feature cutoff date of WSUS 3.0 by several weeks, I'm highly skeptical that the 3.0 release takes advantage of any of these features.
It's possible, though, that an updated WUA may be in the wings to make use of BITS 2.5 -- I'll see what I may find out, since I currently have the ears of the WUA developers working another issue for me.
