WSUS 3.0 Install issue Will 6/21/2007 10:46:00 PM I've gotten to the point in the install where it is running the Configuration Window... everytime I click the "Start Connecting" button to save & download upstream server (Microsoft Update) & proxy server (none) info, it tries for a few seconds and then reports: "The synchronization with the upstream server or Microsoft Update was canceled." No indication as to what canceled it or why it was canceled. Any insights? -- --Will Take the dontspam out of the email to email me. (every even letter until spc.net)

Have you reviewed the Synchronization Log? Have you reviewed the Application Event Log? Are you positive you have no requirement to configure the proxy settings? The log indicates synchronizations are successful (including the scheduled ones that apparently migrated from WSUS 2.0). But the question remains why is the configuration wizard indicating the synchronization was canceled? 3. Yes, I'm certain there is no requirement for proxies. WSUS 2.0 didn't use a proxy, no other PC in the building uses a proxy. 4. Yes, WSUS is fully capable of resolving DNS hostnames - WSUS 2.0 on the same server had no issue doing it.
