The quickest way: Right click one of the nodes in the tree, and "Search." Search for the update, and see it in the list presented. Double click the update and you'll get a status report. By default that will exclude "installed/up-to-date" but you can use options in the menus for the report to include those and re-run the report.
The usual way: You can double click (or use the action menu or context menus) on updates or computers in the update and computer lists. There's also a spot in the preview pane next to the pie charts that will launch the reports.
