Windows Clients not registering on the WSUS 3.0 box?
SPiderman 7/10/2007 12:08:01 PM
Hi,
We had various versions of WSUS (other people setup poorly), and I just put
up a new wsus3 box on our new dc. Clients don't seem to all be checking in,
I am setting this through a GPO.
Can anyone give me an idea of what their gpo is and what to do if clients
are not registering? I am not good at scripting and I know someone wrote a
script that I heard about which would run at login and basically clean the
registry out and force the pc to go to the wsus server?

It would likely be much more successful if you posted your GPO here, and
we'll tell you what's incorrect about it, or that it's all correct.

Beyond that, the contents of the GPO are but one of a dozen reasons your
clients might not be checking in. The best diagnostic for this symptom is to
run the Client Diagnostic Tool on one of those not-checking-in clients, and
post the results here for analysis.

No longer an issue on WSUS 3.0 -- so those scripts won't be of any use in
your situation, regardless of what it might be.
