GPO for WSUS
bacot 6/18/2007 10:44:01 PM
Hi all,

Does anyone know how to setup these following keys from AD Group Policy.

"DisableWindowsUpdateAccess"
"UseWUServer"
"RescheduleWaitTime"
"RescheduleWaitTimeEnabled"

I can find all other key on AD Group Policy except for these 4 registry
settings. Do I have setup a custom preference settings in the group policy?
Can anyone please help?

Thank you.

Thanks Harry,

User Configuration: Administative Templates: Windows Components: Windows
Update: Remove access to use all Windows Update features

I could not find this key on the GP. I could find a similar key on
Administative Templates -> system ->Internet communication management ->
internet communication settings -> turn off access to all windows update
feature.

I am also still struggling finding the corresponding key on the group policy
for the following registry keys.

The settings below will control how much data is transferred over the
LAN/WAN Connection at any one time, this is so the WAN links are not
saturated with update traffic.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\BITS]
"EnableBITSMaxBandwidth"=dword:00000001
"MaxTransferRateOnSchedule"=dword:0000000a
"MaxBandwidthValidFrom"=dword:00000008
"MaxBandwidthValidTo"=dword:00000011
"UseSystemMaximum"=dword:00000001
"MaxTransferRateOffSchedule"=dword:00000032

Do you know where can I find the corresponding key on the group policy?

Thank you again.

Hmmm. The group policy item I mentioned is definitely present on my system. Is
wuau listed in the current policy templates? What's the modification date?
(Right-click on Administrative Templates and select Add/Remove Templates.)

I'm not aware of any group policy settings for BITS. Of course if you really
need to you can create your own group policy template; I assume this is
documented in the help pages for Active Directory or on Microsoft's web site.

Harry.
