Bob, WSUS will *automatically* install to an alternate virtual server on Small Business Server, and function on port 8530.
The release notes really apply only to non-SBS IIS environments. On SBS, while there technically are two virtual servers running on port 80, the Sharepoint site is accessed via a host-header (http://companyweb), and thus is not affected by that note in the Release Notes. Actually, to that end, any such scenario on any other server would have to be using host-headers as well, so I'm not really sure what the point of the note really is.
Great question, though!
