WSUS E-Mail & Exchange 2007 Enterprise Anti-Spam/Block List Updates
"Andrew" <1800PRIVATE[ at ]NOWHERE.COM> 7/9/2007 12:19:47 PM
I've configured my WSUS server to e-mail me when new updates are pulled
down. It's always telling me that it's pulled down 10-12 Exchange 2007
Enterprise Anti-Spam/Block List updates.

I understand why it's always pulling down new updates. But to be perfectly
honest with you, I don't care all that much about these updates. Is there
anyway to tell the e-mail service to not inform me about the Exchange 2007
Enterprise Updates? Better yet... I'm only using Exchange 2007 Standard, is
there any way to tell WSUS to not pull down the Enterprise version of the
updates?

Also, why is it only the enterprise edition that's being updated? Why not
update standard?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

If you're only using Exchange 2007 Standard, and you don't care about the
Exchange 2007 Enterprise Updates, why are you synchronizing the product
category? Open Options | Products and Classifications and uncheck "Exchange
Server 2007 Anti-spam".

Because, I believe that feature is not available in the Standard Edition.

The classification "Exchange Server 2007 Anti-spam" is for both Standard &
Enterprise. There are on occasion updates labeled for Standard.

If it truly is meant to be only Enterprise edition, they should label the
category that way.

I just wish they would split it into two categories, so people w/o
enterprise don't have to see all that update spam.
