Take a look at the Kixtart engine. It was designed specfically for windows
environments and will accomplish exacly what you are looking for. It also
comes with a ver intuitive refernce (help file). www.kixtart.org The users
commuties are great. Many sample scripts to pic from.

Best,

Other good resources if you want vbs or batch:

Why did you respond to yourself instead of the only other response in the
thread that you were obviously responding to?
(I have put it in the frankensteined together thread above.)

You are in the wrong business if you don't want to learn new things. ;-)
Your original post said you were not too confident with vbs - so are you
still learning that and just want to use batch?

Trust me - I used to live and breath batch.
Went to VBS and Powershell and although batch still has its place in my
daily routines - vbs and such has much more power and flexibility.

Joseph gave you some great links in this thread...

That can help you piece together some awesome logon scripts.
You will especially enjoy the last one.

You may wish to learn to use Google too...

Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

I used to say that any system administrator better learn to use Internet
search engines well... It's the best resource out there - but now I think I
will revise that and say, 'Everyone could benefit from learning to use
Internet search engines well - as the amount of free information - and
accurate at that - you can get is amazing. Well worth the effort.'
