I've got a site hosted downstream from 1&1 hosting, and the administrator who set me up is unreachable right now. I need the capability of sending email from a web page...but as far as I can see, I can't locate any CGI, ASP, PHP, etc. programs on my web server. Even though the control panel I have access to has them checked as enabled. I believe it's a Windows server since there are Frontpage features to enable (FrontPage sendmail didn't work either). I've tried several basic scripts, and while the form handler portion works fine, I never actually get the test email. Unfortunately there are no form applications or wizards within my control panel, so I'm really on my own here.
Is there any way to have this functionality without installing or configuring my web server, i.e. a remote SMTP server or something? I know don't know enough about this and really want to know if I can bypass setting up my server to process the email from a web form. If not, then are there easy ways to check/confirm IF my server really does have anything installed or configured to handle email scripts? Thx!
