Hi,
I was reading an article on the MS web site about how to use scripting to get information from remote computers. Their example was for inventory of the hardware and software of a given Windows 2000 or XP system.
I would like to adopt this technique but instead of just displaying it to the screen I'd like to dump the information into a database. I typically use Visual Fox Pro and have access to SQL Server 2000. My question is, what would be the best way to configure the tables? I'm wondering how I can find out what field types and sizes to define for each of the bits of information returned.
Has anyone tried this before? Any suggestions? Should I be posting to a different news group?
Thanks in advance, Linn
