Simple DNS Scavenging question
"Jason W." <jasonwilliams74[ at ]gmail.com> 5/16/2007 6:48:41 PM
Something I have been reading out today.
At my location, we use static IP for all of our workstations (long
story and complex).

Does it matter for scavenging if you use static or DHCP? I am more
familiar with setting up on DHCP than static.

Any caveats I need to be aware of?

i was just going to set things to the default 7days - 7 days for now.

We have LOTS of stale records that need scavenging.

I appreciate it.

Jas

Yes, because you don't expect ANY STATIC addresses to be
scavenged.

In general, static records should NOT have the box checked that
allows this.

You don't need scavending if you have manual records.

What would it scavenge?

How is that if you have no dynamic records (that change)?
