In the Microsoft MMC myweb.mydomain.com would be a subdomain (not a child domain nor a child zone).* Nothing wrong with that. Technically EVERY DNS name (ever) is a "Domain Name", e.g., microsoft.com but also www.microsoft.com are BOTH domain names. However, in morder pratice the terminology is usually altered to say that microsoft.com is a domain name and www.microsoft.com is (almost always) a Server name.
