Hello, i have 2 domain controllers hosting Windows 2000 SP4 in parent-child cofiguration. 1. "corporate.local" Domain controller and DNS server with ADI zone 2. "europe.corporate.local" Domain controller and DNS server with it's own europe.corporate.local ADI zone I have setup a secondary zone in the "europe.corporate.local" for "corporate.local" which is hosted in a flat dns file I get all the records from the "corporate.local" in the secondary zone hosted on the "europe.corporate.local", so the zone transfer works. When i restart the DNS Server service on the "europe.corporate.local" the secondary zone "corporate.local" dissapear. To keep resolving hostnames in the parent namespace i have setup a forwarder from the child to the parent. But since the parent server is not on-site if the connection is lost between them the child is not able to resolve names in the parent (obviously only the cached ones). Since i want to have redundancy in case that the parent server is not reacheble to be able to resolve names i would need a solution to maintain this zone "alive". A similar article for W2K3 indicate to a hotfix KB842741 but for Windows 2000 i was not able to find a solution. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you
