Hi,
I have just finished setting DNS, but when i run netdiag I get a very weird
error:
'server.mydomain.local.'. [WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL ]
The name 'server.mydomain.local.' may not be registered in DNS.
[WARNING] Cannot find a primary authoritative DNS server for the
name
'server.mydomain.local.'. [ERROR_TIMEOUT]
The name 'server.mydomain.local.' may not be registered in DNS.
[WARNING] The DNS entries for this DC are not registered correctly on
DNS server '0.0.0.0'. Please wait for 30 minutes for DNS server replication.
[FATAL] No DNS servers have the DNS records for this DC registered.
That's really weird lol beeing the DC server right now the only server
registered by DNS! I looked in all the records and it seems all ok... why it
says DNS server '0.0.0.0'?? It's set correctly loopback as DNS server
[127.0.0.1 --> 192.168.0.3], so why it claims to search on 0.0.0.0?? Nonsense
O.o I am getting crazy on that... maybe it's only a "false message error",
one of these we have to get used too, but which does not point to real
problems, but i need someone to help me or to kill me :P
[P.S. also dnslookup finds correctly the DC server! weird!]

Actually, using the loopback is not the best to use, you should use the
server's IP address on the internal interface for DNS.
Also, make sure the DNS server is configured to listen to IP addresses
physically on the server.
Do not use Internet Connection Sharing on a server with DNS or DHCP running
on it, use NAT in RRAS and make sure the DNS Proxy is disabled in NAT (Name
resolution tab).

ok, changed with server's IP

DHCP is disabled, internet conneciotn sharing as well.
If I understood what you are saying, that is a scenario with 2 net adapters,
one for managing lan traffic, and another for wan traffic, and routing
enabled. But at the moment i have only one net adapter, which works both for
lan and wan [the server, to access the wan, contacts a gateway/firewall/dsl
modem]. By the way, the only computer that, at the moment, has wan access is
the server, the lan is still closed, so there is no internet connection
sharing nor routing of lan traffic to the external net (wan). When the server
will be ready, the wan access will be deployed thanks to another net adapter,
so no internet connection sharing on this adapter nor other traffic directed
to the wan will pass across the net adapter currently installed.
As i said it's very odd that the only host available on the lan is getting
an error, more scaring beeing also the DNS!
Sorry, but I can't still understand that error nor the possible solution :(

Once again, did you check the listening IP address on the DNS server
properties in the DNS Management Console?
This error "WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL" tells me that DNS is not listening on a
correct IP address.
Make sure the DHCP Client service is running.
