DNS Entries Missing
Maida 5/10/2007 7:42:00 PM
Can some one help me in troubleshooting this problem. I don't have Scavenging
turn on and for no reason I have Host (A) records deleted from DNS. We put
them back then going along fine for several days and bam some other Host (A)
records are removed.

Thanks

If you don't want the hosts scavenged, you need to clear the check box,
"Delete this record when it becomes stale".

I'm sorry I misread the part where you said you didn't have scavenging
enabled, is there any thing more you can tell about the hosts that are being
removed?
Does the name or IP match the name of IP of a dynamic host?

I'm sorry - don't have much information. The person handling this didn't give
me much information. Thanks

Are you *sure* you don't have scavenging turned on. It only need be enabled
on one of the DNS servers. Suggest checking the check box to not scavange
and also time the "disapearnce" frequency. It it looks regular or patterned
knowing the period might be helpful in tracking down the cause.
