DNS entry deletion tracking
Brendon B 4/18/2007 9:04:05 AM
Hi Everyone

I posted on the above topic in January and got a tracking email back with a
link to read:
http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/aspx/notifauth.aspx?url=http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx%3fdg%3dmicrosoft.public.windows.server.dns%26mid%3de568207f-68a3-4ef2-8621-feeb9ce0c658

For some reason I can't connect to the link and I cant find the post under
any search.

We have Active Directory integrated DNS and would like to know how it is
possible to track which admin deleted a DNS entry. I remember someone replied
that it wasn't really possible, but would like that said again so I can link
it.

If it is possible, please could you let us know what it would require - i.e
where and what logging would need to be enabled.

Thanks for your time

Regards
Brendon

Try searching the words or phrases in the subject and body by using
Google News.

Most everything is archived there.

Hi Martin

Thanks for the reply. Tried normal google and google news and no such luck.
The subject was exactly the same as the one of this post.

Brendon

I got one from January with that subject on the first try searching Google
Groups
and you may have misunderstood my (unclear) suggestion to search "news" --
News is about things like the NYTimes and AP stories while searching for
Usenet is searching Google GROUPS -- this is always confusing for me but
obvious if I use the wrong one:

"DNS entry deletion tracking"

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=%22DNS+entry+deletion+tracking%22&hl=en&num=100&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0

If that is not it, then likely it is not there.

Thanks Martin

That search directs to this thread. :(

Please could someone give some suggestions on the possibility of this and
what logging etc would need to be enabled.

Brendon
