Backup (TWO) ISPs/ Backup (TWO) Routers/ Backup (Four) DNS Servers on 2 diffrent networks

Hello All-

We have a Windows 2000 domain that is connected to the internet. I
have the DNS servers of our ISP listed as forwarders. I'll refer to
this as ISP-1

We recently purchased new internet service as a backup in the event of
an emergency we can just have someone switch cables and get us back on
line. I'll refer to this as ISP-2

My problem is, when I switch us to the ISP-2 connection we can not
access the internet unless the DNS servers from ISP-2 are set as
forwarders. I want to configure the DNS servers from both ISP as
forwarders and leave them set up all the time so that in the event of
an emergency we can just switch cables and do not need to modify the
DNS settings during the emergency.

I tried to do this but I keep getting the following errors in my event
log (source: DNS event: 7063). Can these messages be ignored? Is
there a better way to set this up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

J

Try using the new ISP's DNS as the forwarder. Maybe they will allow
recursion (to be used as a forwarder) because apparently ISP-1's DNS don't
allow that.
