What SP level is installed on the SBS server? Is it SP2?

What kind of client? Is it XP or Vista?
Does it happen to both or just Vista?

I believe more than likely the DHCP scope is using the wrong DNS address?
Under DHCP option 006, what DNS addresses exist?

"kj" suggested posting an ipconfig /all from the client machine. I would
actually like to see an ipconfig /all from the SBS server too please. Reason
is the primary DNS suffix, search suffix, gate and mask.

Also check the domain.lincon zone in DNS to ensure the SRV records exist.

Thanks,

In dhcp , I assign 3 dns ip.
1. dns ip (perfered dns) : 192.168.1.3 (server ip)
2. isp dns ip
3. 2nd isp dns ip

Is this a problem cause the load personal setting hang ?

Absolutely!
You will need to remove the ISP's DNS from the scope in DHCP AND from the IP
configuration on the Domain Controller.
The Problem is caused by the fact that your ISP's DNS does not, and should
not know anything about your internal domain and when your clients log on
they stick to the first DNS server that responds with an answer of any kind,
you have to remember, "Domain not found" is an answer.

Do not use any DNS in TCP/IP on any member of an AD domain, in any position,
that does not support resolving your AD domain. By default, when the DNS
client service switches to using an Alternate DNS server and gets an answer,
it removes the Preferred DNS as a valid DNS resolver for 15 minutes before
it resets the list in the default order. You can manually run an ipconfig
/flushdns command to manually reset the list order and clear the DNS client
cache. But that doesn't help you before logon.

YEP, there sure is a problem with your DNS config, and Kevin explained why.

Just as he said, immediately REMOVE the ISP's DNS from EVERYTHING including
the server (all clients, member servers and the SBS).

The only place the ISP's DNS should be is configured as a Forwarder.

If not sure how to configure a Forwader, here's how:

Hi kj,

I don't believe I have cross posted any of my postings in this thread.
Looking back in the thread, I see you crossposted once, but that was all I
see. Is there soemthing I missed in you asking to stop multi posting?

Hey, don't hurt yourself. :-)

I didn't realize he was doing that. Oh well. Although the OPwas nice enough
to post his configuration, it probably explains why he hasn't responded to
the suggested fixes. I hope he follows the suggestions.
