Zone previously loaded but another copy
"Guus Ellenkamp" <Ellenkamp_Guus[ at ]hotmail.com> 7/1/2007 3:50:14 AM
I keep getting the message "The zonde xxxx was previously loaded from the
directory partition DomainDnsZones.xxxx but another copy of the zone has
been found in directory partition ForestDnsZones.xxxx. Please resolve this
conflict as soon as possible.

It is an Active Directory stored zone. I made it primary, secondary, deleted
it, recreated it, but still keep getting the message. I have two domain
controllers, one of them has the problem, the other does not.

Please advise.

Take the zone out of AD, force a replication cycle, then use ADSIEdit to
delete the objects with the zone name. Look for one named with a cnf in the
name.

When you change replication partitions, take it out of AD first, and make
sure it has replicated to all DCs before placing the zone back in AD. You
apparently have some very slow replication going on.

I'm not sure how, but the problem is solved. I made several changes again
and ended with a forest integrated zone without errors.
