Which DNS server is my primary?

I have two DNS servers - how do I know which is the primary?

Many thanks,
Mark

Sorry - should've mentioned that one is Server 2K and the other is 2003.

Thanks!
Mark

Servers are not Primary or Secondary, the zones on the servers are Standard
Primary, Standard Secondary, or Active Directory Integrated.
If the zones are Active Directory Integrated, they will be Primary (Master)
zones on all DCs with DNS that the zone is replicated to.
If the zones are Standard Primary and Standard Secondary, only the Standard
Primary is writable, Standard Secondary zones are Read-only copies and can
only be modified on its Primary Master.

My zone is Active Directory Integrated. I have two servers with DNS
installed (they're DCs). One of these servers is failing (lots of hardward
problems) so I've built another server and made it a DC as well and just
installed DNS onto it - I want it to replace my failing DC/DNS server. I
guess I'm just wondering what all I ought to be considering before demoting
and shutting down this old server? I'm researching how to configure the new
DNS server and thought that there's probably something I need to do with the
old one before shutting it down for good?

I'm just dotting my "i's" and so on before either this old server suddenly
dies or else I have the chance to shut it down myself gracefully.

Thank you for your input - it's very much appreciated!
Mark

Since your zone is stored in Active Directory, all DCs in the domain will
have the zone and each will be a Primary.
Basically, the only thing you need to do before demoting the old DC is to
make sure no machine, including itself uses it for DNS in TCP/IP properties.
Any FSMO roles it holds will be transferred to another DC when you demote
it, but you'll need to make sure that if it is a Global Catalog that you add
the GC role to another DC before you demote it.
