Charts are not saving automatically anymore
I am recently getting a new error message after I create a chart in
powerpoint and try to save the file. It says "there is an active inserted or
linked object that can't be saved automatically. Please close the object
first." nothing seems to be active or linked to anything else as far as i can
tell. this has never happened before. all my service packs are up to date. I
don't use antivir...

having problems with images in powerpoint2007
Hi.
I am trying to make a new presentation in ppt2007 from a previous
presentation (2003). I am using the 'reuse slides' and editing or adjusting
to fit. However I opened the file this morning to find some of the diagrams
had shrunk ie i needed to increase their height to make them fit again. How
can i stop or lock the images from reverting please?

Slower transitions
I need the slides in my Powerpoint presentation to fade from one to the next
slower than the "Slow" speed setting. I tried using a custom animation
called Fade which has five speeds to choose from, but this doesn't quite do
what I need it to. The custom fade animation requires two clicks to make the
image on the slide fade up and I can't crossfade from one slide to the next.

How do I get the different 'slices' of my pie chart to transition.
I am trying to take an existing pie chart and have each 'slice' of the pie
come in using custom animation separately. I know how to separate each
slice, but not how to make them separate objects on the page....

Chart data labels default back to previous formatting when save+cl
For a chart created in Powerpoint 2007 - The data labels font size is reduced
and colour changed to white (to suit background better). The problem is that
when the presentation is saved, closed and re-opened...they are back to black
colour, not white like when they were saved.
Any ideas?? Need urgent help!

Sound effects as part of an animation
I have added a sound file (chimes) as part of an animation and the sound does
not play. If I add a different sound file (bell) it works fine. If I use
the sound file (chimes) as a sound clip to the slide it works. Can the sound
file (chimes) be too long to play as part of an animation?

How do adjust the color/brightness of a background design template
I am using a design template in a PP presentation - In the past, I have
lightened the design template, but can't see to figure out how I did it.
The design template is 'Ocean' and want it a lighter blue - I have it in
another presentation, but when I copy that slide the the presentation I am
working on, it returns to the darker blue original form....

PowerPoint Templae
I have downloaded a template for a presentation. I need to subdue the colors
on the template so the text is easily readable. I would change the color of
the text but every color is difficult to read. I have tried to go to Master
template and change it that way but nothing changes. I am using '07, any
ideas?...

Printing selected slides
I know how to hide a slide from being presented and that I have the option
to print or not print the hidden slides but is there an option that I can
use to selectively print slides?
Example: I have a 700 slide set presentation, numerous slides have been
hidden, e.g. they will not show when I present but they will print (BTW is
there an option to have some of the hidden slides not print ...

I'm using powerpoint 2007. I opened powerpoint today and I can load my files
or open a new file, but I can't add slide, add image, type or anything. All I
can do is view powerpoint in fullscreen.

code to rename a file
I'm working on creating a redacted (expunged) version of powerpoint
presentations for distribution outside our organization. I have a
macro to strip out notes and changing embedded charts to pics (so no-
one can see the data behind).
However, I need to add a prompts the user into File>Save As and
changes a filename and/or extension. For example.

The Default Slide Master
The default slide master on one of our computers (PowerPoint 2003, Windows
XP) is purple with yellow text. We are trying to get in back to plain,
unformatted white, with black text for the master. HELP, I cant figure out
how to get the change to stick for all new presentations.

can't go to next slide when playing video second time
Hello,
Powerpoint version: 2003sp2
A user has a ppt with 18 slides.
Slide 7 has a short video. The file format is WMV, it is in the same
directory as the PPT, and the path+filename is a lot shorter than 100
characters.
No transitions are defined.
The video is on the slide as a small 2cmx2cm (approx.) square.
When you go from slide 6 to slide 7, the video does not start
automatically.

Help me,
How can I change the Stretch options Offset (Left, Right, Top and
