Tray Icon Noanet There
In the lower right hand corner where my clock is there used to be an icon for
a side note. It does not show up in my version of 2007. I am running Vista
Ultimate and it does not show. I can't seem to be able to grab a shot of a
web page and paste it. Help?

?? OneNote -- Missing Features ??
Hi all,
I've just started using OneNote and I'm very happy with the concept. I think
the tool has a lot of potential.
I was wondering a few things though, hoping someone might know the answers.
First, is it possible to password protect an entire notebook, not just a
section within a notebook?
Second? Can I change the background color of a "block of text". I'm not sure
of the term...

Word spacing irregular
I see very irregular display of the space character between words and at the
end of a sentence. The width of a space is not constant when displayed.
Note, I am using ON 2007, zoom set to 100%, font 11 pt. Calibri. Screen
resolution is 1920x1200 on a 30" Dell monitor. This is especially troubling
at the end of a sentence where one space after a period might look like two
or zero.

Cannot add words to custom dictionary in OneNote 2007
Whenever I enter a word that OneNote doesn't recognise, if I right-click to
add to dictionary, I get the following message "The word xxxxx cannot be
added to the custom dictionary. This word contains characters that the
spelling checker cannot handle, or the dictionary is full or unavailable."
In Spelling Options, the 'Suggest from main dictionary only' box is

Embedding files into ON single file
Hello,
Is there any way how to "store" files (Excel tables, Word documents, Pdf
files, JPEGs)... in OneNote single file.?
I mean added files will not be stored in folder separatelly one by one...
but these added will be "embedded" into single One note file? (Just like in
Microsoft Binder)?

Page titles
In OneNote 2003 there was a facility for toggling the page title on and off.
I can't find that in 2007 - I want it on my toolbar.
If you use the Screen Clippings facility to bring material into OneNote 2007
it places it on an unnamed page in the Unfiled Notes area.
The official Help says 'To rename a page, click its page tab, and then type
a different name into the title area'. Fine - but ...

How to keep notes stable, from moving about on tablet PC
Am part of a three person team using OneNote 2003 with a form (stationary) to
collect information. We trade notes and the files received by the others
always get jumbled even if we first convert to PDF format before sending.

Cannot turn of 'Bold' when writing emails. Always highlighted
I am unable to turn off 'Bold' in the window for writing emails.

I want to create a shortcut on my desktop which opens OneNote 2007 and
automatically creates a new Section in a specific notebook.

I lost the "Send to OneNote" option in my list of available printers.
One Note 2007 and Vista 32 Bit
The "Send to OneNote" option in the list of available printers was deleted
during a long struggle to get my balky Canon printer installed. If I try
to use 'Install a new Printer", it just tells me none are available.
How do I get it back? I am clueless on this one.

Changing My Folder Structure
Hi All,
Now that I have OneNote 2007 I want to reorganise my folder structure.
Having done a bit of testing with empty folders that I created myself
through Windows Explorer, I notice that OneNote appears to pick up any
changes.
Before I go on and change my entire OneNote folder structure using Windows
Explorer is there anything I should know???

Keep Losing My Notebooks
I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows XP, Service Pack 2 and I have been

Word outlines into OneNote
I work a lot with the outline feature in Word where I can format differnt
outline levels in different colors and fonts.
There does not seem to be an easy way easy way to export these outlines into
Word (like there is from Outlook 2007 to OneNote 2007 in the form of a
button) and if a copy and paste is done the outline levels mess up and cannot

Ink moving itself after losing focus
I use OneNote intensively as a medical student to diagram various things like
nerve pathways and arteries. I have been using OneNote 2007 trial for more
than a month now and am having some big issues with OneNote moving the inking

Migrating Note Flags?
I fear I may have caused myself some real problems. Here is what I've done:
1) Bought new computer, transfered OneNote 2003 data from old computer to
new computer. Worked with this data on new computer, not realizing that I
had not transfered the flags (indeed, I'm not sure how to do this!) from the

I have come to rely on the Daily Journal Plugin with OneNote 2003. The

Help with error: Deskto Search system componet not properly instal
Hello:
I'm running OneNote 2007 on my Vista Home Premium laptop. I'm receiving an
odd error message. It reads, "The Microsoft Windows Desktop Search system
component is not properly installed."
Can someone please point me to a fix? (I don't want to just disable the
warning.)
