Searching
Can anyone elaborate on how OneNote performs a search? It seems that it does
something of a contextual "smart" search. If I search for the word "apply"
it also finds "applies", "applied", etc. Which is usually fine. But
sometimes, you want a search that is "dumb," where searches for all instances
of a single string. It seems not to do this, unless the search string is at

Shared Notebook audio location?
All,
I've searched for an answer to this and haven't been able to find any
information. I am using Onenote 2007 with a series of shared notebooks.
There are two client computers and a network share on a server. When I
look on the network share I see my .one files. However, I do not see any of
the audio files.

I am using OneNote 2007 on Vista. First let me say, I just went back to
grad school and ON is a phenomenal product, it sure would have been useful

Creating Tasks from OneNote
I use the categories feature in Outlook to sort my task lists. I think the
feature for creating a task, and updating a task is a great idea, however, I
find it cumbersome for the following reasons:

Uninstalling office OneNote 2003
I cannot uninstall OneNote 2003 by using the add or remove program. Is says
it cannot open this patch packet.
I need to uninstall it so i can install other office software.
Does anyone know of a hot fix or anyway of removing it which will uninstall

OneNote2007 search bug?
If I search for "111" (without quotes), then OneNote will find the word
"111Windows" but not "Windows111". Can anyone verify that? I use the little
search within box in OneNote 2007, but I have Windows Desktop Search v3.01
installed....

Recording a lecture in ON 2003
I am trying to learn how to use OneNote 2003 to keep my class notes. I want
to import the porfessor's slides and record the lecture. I know how to
import the slides as pictures but I need some help understanding how the best
way to organize everything.
Since recordings cannot "span" more than one page in OneNote, should I just

Is there a setting that controls when a notebook synchronizes with SP? We
created a shared notebook and put it on SP. If we manually synch it works
fine but automatic synch doesnt seem to work even though we have it set. How

Customizing numbering
It is possible to customize the numbering format that is required eg by
adjusting the alignment and/or by adjusting the spacing from the text. By

Disable Full Page View closes Task Pane
When you disable Full Page View shouldn't OneNote be restored
to the same "state" it was in before Full Page View was enabled?
I like to keep the Task Pane open most of the time (I have a
large wide-screen monitor) yet whenever I toggle back to my
"regular view" it is removed.

Disappearing send to OneNote printer
Further to the various posts concerning the disappearing ON printer, I have
been able to solve the problem on my computer by identifying a conflict
resulting from a later program that installed a pdf printer. I used the
following procedure:

why is onenote 2007 eating up my hard drive space?
I am a big fan of onenote 2003. I switched to onenote 2007 and now it saves
files in two different places (one in a hidden file, not a problem to find)
and this takes up twice the space when making recordings. why does the cache
file/folder keep getting bigger and clear it self? this one program alone
