Sync with an removable (USB) drive?
If I want to carry a notebook from work to home and back via a USB drive, is
there a way I can use the Sync capability? I don't want the notebook only
stored on the USB drive but I want it on a local, networked drive as the
primary location.
Is this best done with Briefcase in XP?...

Change backup location or permissions
I just realized, from another posting, that backup for ON 2007 is stored
under Documents and Settings. I have a particular notebook I am using to
document work on documents which have a limited distribution to a group of
people. Those documents are stored in a location where Windows ACLs protect

Desktop search of Onenote w/ preview?
Is there any desktop search application (e.g. WDS, Copernic, Google
Desktop) that will search Onenote notebooks from outside of Onenote
and present a PREVIEW of the results?
I have WDS 3.0 installed on one machine and it points to onenote
pages with the text that I am searching for but it doesn't present any
preview (it just links to a stub indicating the file-folder
location).

OneNotes should be available in OWA
Currently my Outlook notes are available on my mobile, my PC and in the
internet cafe across the globe. OneNoe out of the box doesn't do the latter.
Would be good if it did....

Convert 2003 to 2007 After Install
Is there any way to convert 2003 notebooks to 2007 after an install? I
installed 2007 on a different box so my notes were not updated, and from
what I am reading so far, the conversion takes place during the install. I
cannot even open a 2003 notebook in 2007. Using Vsta as well.

ON2007 - Insert File as Printout
I can't set up ON2007 to send files to it as a printout. The program has not
installed the "Send to OneNote 2007" printer and I have reinstalled ON2007
several times but still no success. Any thoughts or suggestions?...

Yellow text problem
I used and really liked the beta version of OneNote 2007. As such, I just
got the final version at the store. While almost everything seems to work at
least the same, if not better than the beta, I have noticed one problem - a
problem which did not exist in the beta version.

Send To OneNote button does not send images, sends only text
Send To OneNote does not send images only text.
I am using Outlook 2007, IE 7 and Home and Student 2007 full versions.
When I click the Send to OneNote button on a mail, only the text is
transferred to OneNote. The same problem exists in IE 7 when clicking the
Send to OneNote button , no images, only text is moved to OneNote.

Paste from website doesn't work?
I couldn't see anything related to this on the forum so I trust this doesn't
repeat a question already posed.
In using OneNote 2007 today to grab some material from Microsoft website,
OneNote failed to correctly paste the information onto the relevant page. All
I ended up with was a note container and the 'pasted from Microsoft....' tag.

Since the version of MS Office 2007 on one f my computers did not have

OneNote Tech Guarantee for OEM?
I just purchased (received it about 2 weeks ago) a pretty new Tablet PC

Split Window capability?
With multiple notebooks, it would greatly increase productivity if a client's
notebook could show in one window, or split screen, while research material
was displayed in another window, or split screen. That would allow fast
hyperlinking of research material to specific issues for that client.
Does this capability exist? If not, any suggestions for a work around?...

How do I link OneNote to Outlook contact?
In Outllok 2007 I can click "Contact Notes OneNote" to create a new contact
page in OneNote. The data on the new page includes a link "Link to Outlook
Item" that will automatically pull up the Outlook Contact screen. Is there
any way to create just the link in OneNote? While taking notes i would like
to be able to create the same type of link with only the persons name (i.e.
"Joe Smith")...

I was at the Launch Tour 2007 in Minneapolis and received a copy of Office
Professional 2007 and Office Groove 2007. I was looking at a friend's lap

System slowdown
I am new to OneNote and have been using the trial 2007 version. It
seems to slow the system down. For instance, even when making a new
directory in my file manager (Power Desk), there is a pause of perhaps
five seconds. This never happened before. I really like the program

selecting drawings/ink
I am unable to select a drawing on my page of notes using the selection/type
tool, it only selects text. This is very frustrating. Also when I publish
the notes as a web page the format is screwed up in sections where i have
indentations and the drawings dont line up at all to the nearby text i put on

Positioning graphics near margins in OneNote
I'm creating some OneNote 2007 stationery templates, and I can't get the
graphics I want to use along the left margin to appear flush against the
margin. Whenever I place the graphic to be flush with the left edge of the
OneNote page, OneNote inserts a bit of space. If I slide the graphic over

can't find my previous notes
help!!! i've been using one-note for one week now, and it was fantastic. but
today, i couldn't find anything!!! all my lecture notes had disappeared. i
had backed-up my notes yesterday, so i tried to restore the back-up, but it
keeps coming up as read-only, no matter what i do. what do i do? any help

Copying from ON2003 to ON2007
The mobile notetaker I use only syncs with OneNote 2003, so I have both
2007 and 2003 installed. I found something odd when I went to copy the
imported notes from 2003 to 2007.
If you have both applications open and try to copy and paste between
the different programs they try to convert the handwriting to text.
But, if you open the 2003 notes in 2007 ( read only) you can copy and
paste them...
