Making oneNote lighter/snappy/snappier
Hello all
I am new to onenote and usenet, so be nice ;). Loving onenote!
My question is how can I make onenote snappier ? Not saying that its a
resource hog or something, but things take just a second or 2 or more
longer .
To be specific -
Opening the side-note takes 3-4 seconds first time , 2 seconds every other
time
OPening options (tools > options ) takes a good 10 seco...

How start at the top rathern than the bottom of a page
I created a new page, added content, and then I created additional pages.,
and OneNote automatically saved the pages. When I return to an existing
page OneNote displayed the botom of a page. I would like to start at the
top. So I moved my cursor near the top of a page and clicked the cursor.
Then I went to another page and returned expecting to see the top of the page

Sync Issue with Smartphone
Every time I sync my smartphone with my PC it is creating a duplicate page
instead of Syncing with the page already there under the One note mobile
section.

Send to Back, Front ?
I understand send to back and send to front. But what is the diff between
"send to back" and " send backward"? Same for " Bring to front" and "Bring
Forward"?
I am speaking in relation to when you right click an image and choose order.
Are the commands for images or containers ?
Can you wrap text around an image like you can do in Word ?...

Sync OneNote with Logmein Pro
I know I've read that you can use Logmein Hamachi to sync ON files between 2
computers, but does LogmeinPro work as well? It seems like things come up
missing sometimes when I've made edits to an existing page on one or both
computers.

Unable to set a custom Keyboard shortcut for lasso select
Hello
I need a little help with setting up a keyboard shortcut for lasso select
and the type/Selection tool.
Using the instructions given on this page -

to set a shortcut (alt+L ) for lasso select. Unfortunately though the
shortcut doesn't seem to be working properly.

Excel sheet to OneNote 2007 turns BLACK??
When i try to insert an Excel sheet that is quite big into onenote as a
printout it shows as a black box? Any one else noticed this?

Duplicate Section Groups
I have one note 2007. Recently, when I reopen the One note program, I find
that there are several duplicate section groups at the top. They mirror
sections that are already there. I have no idea why this all of a sudden
started doing this. It actually adds 20 new section groups on 4 separate
section topics that I have listed....

try/catch exception handling
Hello,
How can I use the try/catch facility in C# with OneNote 2007 methods? How
do I code the exception in catch?
Apparently MessageBox is incompatible with OneNote 2007 methods because I
get a compile error when I code using System.Windows.Forms; which is
necessary for MessageBox to work.

Installation Error with trial and closes
I recently tried to install the trial version of One Note. After downloading
and inserting the product key code, installation started, but stopped. The
Installation screen says Installation Error and the only option is to Close
the installation screen. No error numbers were given.

onenote location
When I open tools > options > save > paths
ON shows that the default notebook location:
\\?\Volume{cd49c6f2-7d7d-11dd-975f-001aa0bb1e87}\ON\Others
What might be this saying?
I normally keep my notes on a usb stick.
When I am offline in ON (i.e. when my usb stick is not plugged in)
I search in my computer the ON files but I cannot find them.

Converting ON 2003 files to ON 2007 format
When doing a search in ON 2007, I got the message "Non-upgraded sections: 6.
These sections must be upgraded to OneNote 2007 format before they can be
searched."
I searched the Microsoft support web site and found Article 923307

Highlight text, not the background behind the text
I love the highlight feature in onenote. It works , except instead of
highlighting the actual text (on which the highglighter pen is used) , the
background behind the text is coloured. Which is not a problem as such,
but if one moves around the text (which happens a lot in onenote ) . The
'highlight' doesn't move with the text..
IMHO it is only logical that the highlighted text stays...

difference between .one and .onepkg
This is probably a really silly question, but what is the difference between
a '.one' and a '.onepkg' file? which is best for splitting a notebook up by
sections and saving them as if they were the original?

Collapsing Pages
I am a college student and some of my textbooks are online references. I
recently bought OneNote and love it for its organizational abilities. I am
Sending to OneNote my textbooks, by chapter and sub-chapter (a little slow)
and organizing the chapters by using pages and sub-pages for the
sub-chapters. This is producing a lengthy chain of pages.

Pasting frames without overlap
Is there a way to paste a new frame into a page without it covering up ones
that are already there? I don't want to merge them, but if I have a lot of
frames there already it takes forever to move them all around to accomodate
the new one.
Also along those lines, is there a way to move a frame without being able to
click on the top of it? If the top is covered I have to cut something ...

One Note Spell Check
It appears the One Note no longer recognizes misspelled words. Spelling
Options: Flag repeated words; Suggest from main dictionary ony and Check
spelling as you type; are all checked.
Custom Dictionaries "ExcludeDictionaryEN0409.lex.dic(default) and English:
Custom1Dic (default) All the same as other MS2007 programs which do

Collapsing Pages
I am a college student recently using OneNote and love its organizational
abilities. Some of my textbooks are online references and I Send to OneNote,

Pen Toolbar Goes Gray
OneNote 2007, Windows XP. OneNote Starts with (apparently) active
MyPens toolbar. But if I try to select a pen, the toolbar goes gray
and stays gray thereafter. If I quit and restart OneNote the active
toolbar reappears but goes gray again as soon as pen is selected.
To keep things simple: this behavior is observed with a standard
mouse, but occurs as well with a Wacom tablet.
Ideas?...

i can't find any info on moving a note outside of its current page.
is there a way to drag a note to a different page/section/workbook?

How do I easily & quickly alphabetize the folder tabs?
I know that it's possible to physically move tabs or folders so they are in
alphabetical order. This is cumbersome if you have a lot of folders like I

Linking pages
When I am doing research if applies to more than one group where I store
information. I often will copy the same page into different sections or
section group so it is readily accessible. Is there a way to link pages so
if a page has the same name but is located in more than one section or
sections group, it will update all pages with that same name in all locations?
