i keep getting a message in office updates, to install this update kb949074,
but i dont have office 2003 installed, i have office 2007 installed , anyone
else having this problem, office update wont let me install it anyway, which
is probably agood think since i dont have 2003 installed anyway?...

Deploying Office 2007 Compatibility Pack with SP1
Hi to all,
My current environment has office 2003 deployed. We received a request to
deploy the 2007 compatibility pack.
I will be deploying the pack by GPO, testing worked correctly.
My question now is how can I integrate the SP1 (MSP) for the compatibility
pack into the MSI?
If I execute the following command will it apply the new files to the MSI so
that I can deploy it in prod...

Online Updates Always Failing
I have not been able to get the Online Updates to work for Office 2007.
Whenever I click on the Update button, it gets about 46% done and then locks
up Internet Explorer. When updates come through automatically, they always
fail. I tried using the original CD to see if I could repair the software,
but it always abends saying that it was unsuccessful. I tried removing the

EXCEL KB 958437 fails to install
WinXp pro
SP3
Installing Excel security update KB 958437 fails.
I've done it through the auto update or downloaded the individual update and
both fail. No error messages, just says it failed.
Please advice....

windows did not start successfully
My computer was downloading updates. When it restarted I got the black
screen with the message that windows did not start successfully. Then I am
supposed to high light my choice and enter. However, the screen is hung up
and it won't do anything. I can't even get to the start button to unload
windows and reload it. Alt Delete doesn't work. What now?

Why do I get Office 2007 updates?
I have a Vista pc using MS Office XP/2002 and am not aware of any Office
2007 components on my machine.
However, Windows update often offers me updates for Office 2007 (as well as
those for Office XP) such as the two that arrived today - KB956828 &
KB958439.
Can anyone tell me why this happens please - and how I can stop if?

What's the latest version and best deal on MS Office? (I'm a stud
I am a current student, interested in purchasing the latest copies of

Office 2003 Updates not installing
I'm running Windows XP & Office 2003. For the past 4 months, no Office
updates will install (non-Office Windows updates install fine). Error message
is 0x80070643. I followed the steps on the website for this error message re:
Logging On and altering registry values, and then tried to reinstall the
updates but got the same error message. What to do?...

Office upgrade 2003 from 2000 - conflicts opening applications
Hi,
Recently my computer has been upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003. Now I have
some issues IT are not able to address. First of all,
- All Word, Excel, PowerPoint files get opened in 2000
- I can only open these files from 2003 to work in 2003
The computer starts to 're-install' these programms (why? they were not
deleted) each time when I open a file.

Cuando abro por primera vez el excel me aparece el siguiente mensaje
"error de compilacion en modulo oculto (thisworkbook)". Luego doy aceptar y
aparentemente funciona, hasta volver a cerrar y abrir excel nuevamente.

Installing XP SP3 on Student Edition
Hi All,
I wanted to install Office XP SP3 on a student edition but am failing. The
update process always requests PRORET.MSI on the original CD, whcih I cannot
find there (as I said, I am running the student edition).
We tried everything: Re-installing Office, downloading SP3 from

Sort the results of a Search for a topic in Office apps
When searching within an Office application, the results appear in random
order and often exceed the results window size.
Enabling the ability to sort the results or automatically sorting the
results - would be of great benefit to all.
If this available in Office 2007, please tell me how.

I am trying to install an upgrade of office 2007 on our new computer. we keep
receiving a message that says we do not have a qualifying product...we do
(microsoft works). it is not recognizing the location on the C; drive. any

Office 2007 Compatibility Pack SP1 - Failed to Start - 2147942402
I keep getting Failed to Start - 2147942402 message when attempting to
install SP1 for the Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack.
I've tried several different ways including using MS' command for installing
both the Compatibility Pack and SP1 at the same time and I get the same
results.

SP 1 installation fails--corrupted installation data base
I tried to manually download and install Office SP1 update. I have Small
business version on XP Professional. The Installation failed because of
Corrupted Installation database.
How do I fix this so that I can download the Service Pack?

i was installing office 2007 on my laptop when my battery died mid-install.
i plugged the computer in, and restarted the laptop. i tried to start the
install again, and it tells me that office 2007 installation encountered an

I am trying to install Office 2007 Small business Upgrade from my 2003
Standard edition. I keep getting the same error message which is
Smallusinessr.WW\SMBrWW.cab cannot be found and wants me to tell the computer
