Configure Office through GPO?
Hello.
IS it possible to configure office settings through GPO's? It would be very
smooth if you can import .adm files that would allow you to set office
options. For instance that office 2007 does not save in te new file format
so we can avoid some headaches untli we are all on the new version.

Configuring "My Places" using Group Policy
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if there is a way to configure "My Places" for Office 2003
using Group Policy in a Windows 2003 Server domain?
I know how to manually configure them for individual computers but we'd like
to set up a policy that can be implemented for different security groups.

Recommended Deployment of Office 2007 from 2003
OK, I'm posting this question again since my original one was never answered.
We currently have Office 2003 deployed via group policy. I would like to
upgrade my clients to 2007. I've already done all the customization using
OCT. What is the recommended method of deployment to clients? Specifically,
should I initiate the deployment of the 2007 system and let it run in

creating a server install file
Could someone point me to directions that will allow me to create a server
installation file for Office 2003 that will enable me to do the following:
1) when run, install everything but Outlook
2) have all of the latest Office 2003 updates installed. (my office pro

SQL Server Error when installing 2nd Disc in Microsoft Office Ulti
When I attempt to install the 2nd disc for Office Ultimate, I keep getting an
error messsage with the SQL Server, installation wizard failed. I tried to
download the SQL server from the Microsoft webiste, but I get the same error

office 97 and office xp upgrade with windows vista
We bought 2 new computers with Windows Vista Home Premium. We have office 97
and office xp upgrade for the office 97. I have no problem loading the
office 97 and the programs work. When I try to load the office xp upgrade,

I started over completely with my hard drive. I've updated XP as much as
possible and am trying to re-install MS Office. The installer keeps getting

Installed office 2007, now dictionaries are french
I don't want to get into how much I hate what is happening to MS, but for
right now I'd like to know how to get my english dictionaries back now that
I've installed office 2007 and it installed only french dictionaries even
though I specifically excluded all languages except english.

Using Paint with Word
Office 2007: Is there anyway to call Paint from within Word so as to be
able to edit a .jpg picture in place? If not, is there any other MS program
that can be used to edit pix content within Word? In this case I need to
remove some background and some text and add some new text and perhaps
change some colors.

Office 2007 - Saving Files in Office 2003 Format?
I'm installing Office 2007 Small Business, but most of the people I
share files with will remain on Office 2003 for awhile. Is there a
way in Office 2007 to have the various programs default to saving the
file in Office 2003 format?

Certificate Error IE7
I got an certificate error when i access MVLS website by IE7. When i view the
certicate it show that the certification cannot be verified up to a trusted
certification authority. The certificate is issued to
LicensingAdmin.Microsoft.com by Microsoft Secure Server Authority and is
still valid. How can i solve this error?

Office 2003 install error after removing Office 2007
I have a client who had Office 2003 Standard installed on a Dell with
Windows XP Sp2 system and installed office 2007 Trial. They uninstalled the
trial and now 2003 will not open. It says the install file is missing. If I
try and install 2003 from the original CD's it says "cannot install Office
2003 on W2000 without Sp3 installed or later. Please install W2000 Sp3."

Can not find "Import Contacts" button in Sharepoint 3.0

win xp and office 97- slowly killing me!
i bought a used computer on winxp. i tried to remove ms off97 from add/
remove programs but it keeps saying please enter cd. the person i
bought the pc from has not got the cd and nor do i. when i tried to
unistall it says please enter cd.....what cd?!is there any way of
removing off97 without having the damn cd. not the most efficient way
of allowing customers to remove software is it?!

Weird error - cannot open document as Read-Only
Here is the problem - I cannot open word docs from the network as
"Read-only," either from the dialog box or from VBA. It opens
normally no matter what I choose. I can open local documents as
read-
only. Any ideas?

My windows crashed and I had to reinstall it. When I did this I lost office
97. It is still in the hard drive and I can access it but when I save it and

Trying to Install Office 2007 in Vista with Administrator Error
I have a brand new laptop with Vista Business edition.
I am trying to install a corporate edition of Office 2007 and keep getting
an error saying that I am not an administrator. I can assure you that my
user account IS an administrator account. Anyone have any ideas why this is
