Is this an error in MS Arial Unicode?
I am testing Unicode combining characters in Arial Unicode, but when I
try U20D7 it displays the glyph (a top arrow) beside the previous
character, instead of combined with it. The same happens in fact with
all the following ranges of combining characters: U0483-U0486,
U20D0-U20E1, U3099-U309A, UFE20-UFE23.
These are all supposed to be combining characters, however they are
displayed as norm...

Why no Tahoma italic?
Does anyone know why Microsoft's Tahoma has no italic face?
I have a vague recollection of an MS spokesperson, a few years ago, stating that
sans serif fonts had no need of italics. Although Verdana and Arial are provided
with italic faces, they are more "oblique" than italic.
- Character...

Problem printing grey text
Hello
Using Office 2002 SP3, Windows 2000 V5.0 SP-4.
One of my users is having a problem printing text with a grey font colour
in Word. She is using RGB settings to get the grey, but the text is coming
out with a heavy blue tinge. The problem varies from printer to printer,
with some exaggerating the hue more than others.
The user has experimented with autoshapes, colouring them blac...

Problem: Word and PowerPoint "reinterpret" fonts/formatting on others' docs
Hi there,
I've been having a problem for a while, and I'm not sure what to do
about it. It seems that, on my machine, PowerPoint -- and Word -- tend
to reinterpret docs that others have created.
If a colleague sends me a resume that they created in Word, often words
spill over from one line to the next. In PowerPoint, titles entend
slightly beyond the page boundaries. In PowerPoint, if ...

LAW -- Appellate Brief & correct printer drivers ???
Greetings,
I'll be working on an Appellate Brief for an attorney. I understand
that the page layout may appear different on-screen, between his
computer and mine. I understand that if I install a printer driver
for HIS printer, that I can get my on-screen display to look the same
as it will print out. Even though I don't have the printer itself.
How do I go about this?

Color Printing
I had a user with a question regarding color pages. We have a leased
photocopier/printer where a counter is used to count the number of color
pages printed. We recently had a fairly high page count so the question
came about, if you print a document where one page is color, does Microsoft
designate that whole document as being color and thus even if you had 1 out
of 5 pages that were c...

printer preferences problem
Sorry for the alliteration.
My problem is that when I try to set my printer preferences through the
control panel - printers or through the printers folder or any other way I am
constantly getting an error message telling me that there are not enough
resources to complete the operation. I have re-installed the printer drivers
several times and I can print but it's just a pain having to go int...
