How do I change the margins to be in inches rather than cm?
I just purchased the Office Home and Student 2007. How do I change the
margin setting to use inches instead of cm? My previous versions used inches
and I like it better....

How do I find out what fonts were deleted from my system
Every year I write a christmas letter to my children and I save the year
befores document (word 2003) version. It contains a special script font that
I do not remember where I got it from. Somehow it was deleted from my
system. Word substitued a different font in the document. Is there a way to
find out what the original font name was in the document or be able to know

Formatting convulsions
I use Word 2003 to create 2-column documents with photos embedded in the
documents. The photos use a "square" layout so that text flows around them.
But when I make changes to the text any place on the page (not next to the
photo), the photos leap around wildly on the page, across section breaks,
sometimes to the next page or sometimes on top of another photo. Is there a

Select printer by Word 2007 template?
Can anyone suggest how I can select a printer (and possibly a tray from that
printer) when a particular Word 2007 template is opened? I want to do this
without altering the system default printer.

Stopping columns on subsequent pages
I want to create a template for reports that have the distribution at the
bottom of the first page in three columns. I need to start the columns about
halfway down the page and then stop the columns at the bottom of the first
page. Page 2 and beyond should be regular Word format. I can't seem to stop
the columns from continuing on page 2 and beyond. Has anyone done this
before? Thanks.

How do I remove a header for just a couple pages but not all?

Restricted permissions settings/Preserving Layout of Form?
I have created a form in MS Word which contains text boxes to fill in [name
address etc etc].
I then restricted the document to "form filling only" but find that when I
type within one of the text boxes the cell/table margins change as does the
[non-editable] text sections.
Is there any way to limit it to that the actual layout of the form [spacing
between entries etc] cannot be altere...

Page Numbering in Word 2007
I can not format my numbering to save my life. I am so frustrated. I want
to insert a page number footer, but every time it won't put the numbers in
sequence. It will just show "1". I read around at other posts already and
it was suggested to delete the building blocks file. I did this and it still

Preview mode does not display my headers correctly?

Page Breaks in an Index field
Hi, I have an index which lists entries at 2 levels (i.e. may xe entries have
subentries ":") The index is in 3 columns and spreads over 2-3 pages.
So, the problem, which seems simple but has been driving me mad for far too
long, How do I make all the subentries stay underneath the main entry,
without a page/column break getting in the way?

Printing pages in correct order
I am using Word 2007 to create an event program. The program is to be
booklet style printed on 8.5 x 11 paper, so that the paper is folded in half
to present a sing "page". There are four pages in the document. I want to

Font Layout on Table of Contents
I am creating a table of contents from a Microsoft template. The second
level of the table of contents is in small-caps which was pre-formatted on
the template. I tried changing this pre-formatted text to be lowercase, but
nothing will change. Now when I close the document and re open in it, the

I have placed my logo at the top left corner of document.

reformat 8.5 x 11 calendar to 4 x 6 ?
I have designed an 8.5 x 11 calendar with 2 months per page. My goal is to
save paper and printing expense at Staples. I am not certain I understood
correctly that March has to back January. I would hope that February would

how do I put borders around columns that look like page borders?
I have a page that I want to have a border around each column that looks like
a page border because I want to fold the page in half.
I have tried using a paragraph border but it does not get very close to the
edge of the page and it also does not include my footer inside of the border.
Any one know how I can accomplish what I am hoping to do?...

Problem Centering Document at 100% in Print Layout View
I tried searching the boards, but I couldn't find an answer to my issue. What
I am trying to do is get the document to appear in the center of my screen at
100% in print layout view. I have Word 2003 at work and I just got a new 24"
widescreen monitor. Since the monitor is so big, when I open a new document
in print layout view, it now shows up on the left side of the screen when the

Fitting text to page width
I've copied some text from a web page and pasted it into Word 2007. I'm going
to print it in A4. After pasting, each line goes only about half way of the
paper's width before going to the next line. Is there a quick way to fit the
text to the width of the paper since that would shorten the length of the
document considerably. Thanks :)...

strange problem affter pressing enter
A friend of mine uses the office 2007 and on one of his profiles he has a
strange problem. Every time when he opens a file ansd starts to put some text
after hi presses the enter he's starting to write from the bottom of this
page. This problem appears only on one user profile on the others profiles
everything is fine. Can anyone tell me whats the reason?

Footer Options Appear in French or Spanish
On different workstations in the past week, when someone tried to change the
previously defined footer in Word 2003 or 2007 (yes, it happens in both
versions), the pre-defined options on the pull-down menu appear in French on
one person's computer and in Spanish on another person's. We only work in
the English language, and there is no reason or cause why all of a sudden
