How do I add another language/dictionary? (Word XP/2002)
We have a contractor from Venezuela using a WinXP/OfficeXP PC in our office.
He needs to check grammer and spelling in his native langauge. I sat down
and used the drop-down to select Spanish (Venezuela), and it then started
the install process. Mid-way, as expected, it asked for the Office XP CD.
I inserted it and it soon said it needed a file not on the CD -- PROREP.MSI.

MY WORD SAYS: "MODIFICATION NOT ALLOWED"
Whenever i am trying to either open a new document or an old one, i am being
asked that the modification is not allowed. NO toolbar is working, i cant add
new toolbars or remove any buttons from the toolbar. This is happening in all
the OFFICE products. Please can any one help me with that....

transferring index contents into text file
Hi
I am trying to extract the contents of an index Word 2002 created into a
simple text file I can send to the book publishers who need it as a PC
file. When I copy and paste the index into a new separate Word file and
then try to print it, the new index changes into an error message.

Text: "Page 2 of 4" Where is the number of pages feature?
There used to be a Header or Footer toolbar which had a button to enter
automatically the total number of pages in a document. I can't seem to
locate the feature in Office 2007. All I know to search for is "number of
pages."

Help - Word has changed all my styles!
Hello,
I have a document that has been set up using styles. All has been fine,
but this morning, I opened the document map so I could jump down to
another part of the document, and noticed that there were far more
"Heading 1" styled paragraphs than there should have been.
When I looked more closely, I noticed that Word has picked random

Redundant extra page
I tried to set up a 10 x 4 envelope at the top of an 8 1/2 x 11 page (landscape). Brought
in a table of one cell, just for visual alignment, and text boxes for return and send
addresses. Somehow, the program has ascertained that I really want 2 pages, each 11 x 4
1/4 above and below each other. So print results in a blank sheet and an ok envelope. But

Mail Merge using envelopes
W07, trying to use mail merge to print the address on envelopes. My
envelopes already have a pre-printed return address and company logo etc so
all I want is the address information. I can link to a source documents for

Blank document
Hi:
Lately, whenever I open a Word document initially, what I will see is a
blank document. So I've been closing it and
reopening it and then the content appears. This has been going on for
several weeks. I havent been able to come up with a solution, evening using
search engines snd perusing MS Word website.

Preventing fomatting from migrating to other pages
Hello Everyone!
This has long bugged me. Many times I write in Word in three columns, with
page 1 using a 3" top margin (usually with a text box above it) and the rest
of the pages using 1' top margins.
The problem is that if I insert additional text on the first page, the
overflow moves to a NEW second page (Word automatically inserts the new
page) that has a 3" top margin. If I use...

Translating WordPerfect files to Word
We are in the process of changing over from WordPerfect 6.1 to Word 2007. We
are opening one WP document at a time and resaving it in Word format. Now we
are wondering:

Text alignment on MS word skips to center and right
Does anyone have advice on text alignment skipping uncontrollably to the

Word document problem
Hi
I have a batch file which opens a word document.
C:\\MSWord.lnk c:\filename.doc /mname
filename is a mail merge doc
What does /mname stands for ("name" is used as an example )?
Normal working scenario is it should open the word document..preview
it and closes it.,but on 2 of the machines word just stays open after
opening the document
Any ideas?

Remove Change Styles in 07
Using Word 2007, is there a way to permanently remove the "Change Styles" in
the Styles Group on the Home tab of the Ribbon Bar? We do not want our
users to use the Style Sets and the phrase 'Change Styles' looks too much
like "Modify Styles." I wish it wasn't so conspicuous. We have customized

Printing an envelope to a pdf writer.
Windows Vista Ultimate, MS Office Premium 2007.
I know how to print envelopes. I know how to save the envelope to a file.
How does one "print" an envelope to a pdf? I tried to set the Adobe Acrobat
8 Pro properties to a custom size. It was ignored and would create what
