Hyperlinks inactive in Word 2007
HTTP/interent Hyperlinks are inactive after inserting in a trial version of
W 2007 on a laptop with winxppro -- for both Ctrl-Click and Click only
settings --but work as expected with the paid versions of 2007 on our other
computers (Vista), and web hyperlinks in Word 2000 text work fine on all the
computers. We CANNOT get these puppies to work on this one installation on
this one comput...

Need help sorting and need a real pro - this is a toughy.
Perhaps someone can tell me how to sort this list:
1. joe smith 1 main st someplace ny 11300
2. mary jones 2 central ave anywhere ny 11456
and so forth. I would like to sort them in alphabetical order by first or
last name and have the rest of the information appear as well. If necessary,
I can eliminate the numbers preceding the name. I could have a list of up to
50 to sort. I use Word...

Faxing from Word - HELP!
How do I send a fax directly from Word without using the Wizard for a cover
sheet. I do not need the cover and can't quite figure out how to get around
that.

Credential Manager
I have not used credential manager before, but am being asked for a password
when trying to save a file in Microsoft Office 2007 Word, in order to to
first log on to credential manager. The program will not permit me to save
the file otherwise.
I do not know my password, and cannot recall being given one.
Can you help, please ?...

Word is slow opening files
I have a friend with a reasonably new machine, it is a dual-core Pent, 1GB
RAM, over 150GB free on the drive, etc.
A decent machine for home/office use.
The problem is that opening a Word document via My Documents is very slow,
but opening from Word is fast.
For instance, if you go to My Docs, double-click a *.doc file, it takes 10
seconds or so to open Word, and then takes another 5 - 10 s...

How do I create reverse italic fonts?
I'm trying to format a text in reverse italic fonts, i.e. a font format that
slant the letters from top left to bottom right, so opposite of the default
italic format in Word. Who can help...

Any way to suppress page numbering on specific pages?
In WordPerfect, I can suppress page numbering on specific pages (not just
the first page). This does not disrupt page numbering in earlier or later
pages. Is there any way to do this in Word? For example, I may have a
flyer in a newsletter and not want numbering to print on that page. I have
only found a setting under the Setup tab to suppress a page number on the

This supernatural phenomena is freaking me out
Posted about this a few times but with no explanations, so i can only put
this down to the supernatural
Everytime I try to print using Microsoft Office Document Image Writer (hence
post to ms office newsgroups) - It goes through the motions (save a printout
as a file)
but the file (a .tiff file) cannot be seen by Vista (as if it doesn't exist)

new to Word 7 at new job
Usually in Word 2003 I could make fields in documents, to be completed later)
with Ctrl-F9 and then save the document. Later to complete the blanks I
would use F11.
For the kind of work I do, this was perfect. I got a new job, they have
Word 7 and I am lost. This doesn't seem to work. I need a fast way to add
go to points, for later completion.

Changing 'Highlight" color
When I select the 'Highlight' icon, I find I only have 15 colors, none of
which are really the primary colors. Is there some way to get more colors,
such as what is available at the adjacent 'Font Color' option?

Can't Tab Selected Text
I used to be able to select a groupof text, then hit the tab key and the
whole group of selected text would tab over. Now if I select text and hit
tab, the text is deleted. I assume some setting was inadvertantly changed.
Any clue how to get this working again?

Mergeformat field code visible when opening document
I generally keep my "all formatting marks" (the para symbol icon) turned on....
In one numbered chapter document, the fieldcodes are visible when you open
the document. I have to toggle the field to turn them off. No matter what I
do to that doc., it always behaves that way.
How do you set the opening so that the field codes are never displyed. I
want it "clean" so that when someone ...

XP OFFICE WORD SPELLING
Switching to Russian and executing Spelling I am getting a msg:
"Word cannot find the spelling file MSSP3RU.DLL or c:\Program files\Common
files\Microsoft Shared\ROOF\MSSP32.DLL fpr Ruassian(Russia)"
However, the files have been downloaded to PROOF and actually, as it seems,
are found because with the change of the files names from low case to capital
the msg changes accordingly.

Print check in word xp
Hi,
I need to print check in word xp. I need to have my text fixed at certain
positions no matter if i change some other text. How can i achieve that?
Another thing is say i want my first line to start from 3 inches from the
left and finish it before 2 inches from the right. My second line will start
from 0.5 inches from left and finishes 1.0 inches before right. Is that
possible?

Lock Cells In A Table???
Word2007
In a Word2007 table, is there a way to lock cells so that if a cell has
something in it, it can not be modified or if a cell is blank, nothing can
be entered into the cell?
