split a numbered list into columns
Hi,
I have a numbered list that I copied from the web and pasted into
word.
I want to split it into columns.
I put the cursor where I want to split it and select two columns but
nothing happens.
I pasted it in plain text (the numbers are still there) too but the
same problem.
I select the whole list and hit 'none' to remove the numbering but
it's still there.
Right now that a...

Can one get a report from Word 2003 docs' "PropertIes?"
I'd like to rapidly extract the "Total editing time" property from a set of
Word docs for time and billing purposes. Does anyone know of a product—or
method—that will do that?
Currently, to compile and tally editing time for many docs, one has to open
each doc, get into File, PropertIes, Statistics and type the editing time in
a separate doc. Slow. (Cannot even copy it, so Clipboard...

I am running Microsft Word 2003
All my menus have disappeared. I already looked at:

the fix didn't help opening Word in any other way (menus still missing)
I edited the registry - the only place I find Word/Data is under Office 11 -

Why do all docs open in Word 2007 as Read Only from ext. hard driv
I have just installed Word 2007 on a Vista Ultimate x64 computer. When I am
looking at files on an external storage drive, I can right-click a Word
(2003) doc file and open it in Word 2007, but the file is marked Read-Only
and if I change it I have to save it with another name. I don;t necessarily
want to save it under a new name.
I want my documents to open NOT as Read-Only... is this ...

Revision marks print differently than they appear in print preview
User has a document in Word 2003 including many tables, figures and text.
Track changes is in use. In an attempt to print the revision lines, they
print broken even though the line appears solid in the Print layout view and
in Print Preview. this happens on multiple printers.
Any thoughts?...

Transpose 2 characters, as in "prefect" to "perfect"
I'm using Word 2007, but this question would apply to most versions of the
software.
In the early days, there was a simple keyboard shortcut (no cumbersome
macro, Vbase language, etc.) to transpose two mis-typed letters. For
instance, if one typed "prefect" instead of "perfect" (a case in which a
spell-check will not help), one could put the cursor between the R and the E
and hit s...

Merging info from Access into Word document
Hi,
I am trying to do a merge document. It is basically a memo but within the
memo I need to put the person's schedule which I keep in Access. It is
linking to access fine and allowing me to insert the merge fields but when it
gets to the end where you merge, it gives me a seperate memo for every item
on the person's schedule so they are getting 3-5 memo's rather than 1 with

Improving Word 2007
Are there any plans to revise, update, and improve Word 2007? I realize that
Microsoft put a great deal of time and effort into the product.

don't upgrade to Office 2007. ...
