Word should let me write alternate versions of a paragraph
I would like to see a feature within Microsoft Word where it allows me to add
alternate versions of a range of text -- especially a paragraph. For
example, if I'm writing a document I may want to try wording a particular
paragraph in a few different ways and then settle on the final version. In
my mind, we'd select the initial version of the text with the cursor, right
click and choose...

including text from other documents
Hi
What I have is a number of documents (over 200) and I need to select some of
those to create a new document. What I would like to have is a table with
the document names and I can put a number next to the documents that I want
included and they are included in that number order.
Example
TestA.doc 2
TestB.doc 1
TestC.doc
TestD.doc 3

Drop Cap sort of header
I seek to form a sort of a header displaying page number in the top right
corner like a Drop Cap shape. In other words, I want it to be covering an
area of around 1" x 1" on the right top while allowing normal text lines to
be alligned with it, but not going behind/being displayed in front of it.
Any suggestions?

TOC 1 no page # / TOC 2 with page #
Word 2003 - Windows 2000 Professional
I am trying to set up heading 1 (TOC 1) with no page number then heading 2
(TOC 2) with the page number far right with dot leader. It seems I either
have the page number on both or neither one. What I'm trying to do:

Why does the curser jump up the document?
In Word 2007 As I am typing in a long document about every sixth line about
six spaces in the curser jumps up the page but the letters keep typing where
the curser had been even though the page is now up higher than it had been.
Is there a fix for this?...

25+ Drop Down
I know a drop-down list can't exceed 25 options but what is the work around.
I see a couple responses regarding form fields but I'm not very savvy and
need step by step instructions to create something that can function in the
same way as a drop-down list for the user to select but for much more than 25

Best strategy to develop Instructor's and Participant's Manuel in sync
I got a contract from a governmental agency to develop a new training
program. Here are few issues I have with this project:
1. The developping committee wants to review both Instructor's Manual and
Participant's Manual at the same time. Because many paragraph, tables, etc.
in the Participant's Manual are identical to the ones in the Instructor's

when i try to create an envelope in Word, i use outlook as my default for

viewing embedded links in a word document.
Hi,
A colleague has emailed me a word doc (v93) with links to other files in it.
However, when I click on the links I get errors messages saying unable to
find the file.
Is this my problem or a problem with the saving of the original file?
If so, who do we get round this please?

Mail Merge and Print Data Only for Forms

Launch Internet Explorer Browser.lnk appears on every page.
I have a Word 2007 document that has "Launch Internet Explorer Browser.lnk"
at the top of every page(below the header), except the first and last pages.
I cannot select and delete it in any way. I even tried copying all the text
in the document into a new document and that phrase got pasted in there also.
I have other Word 2007 documents that do not have this problem. Anybody

Word Options Freezes and Mouse won't select on Word only.
My mouse has stopped being able to select text in Word (2007). I can select
using arrow keys with shift. I tried to see if there was a problem in Word
Options, but could not move out of the 'Popular' page. I can't find any
reference to this elsewhere. The mouse works fine on all other programs
(including Office and other programs). Does anyone know how to correct this?...

my Word 2007 screen will not stay where I am typing. It keeps returning to
the first paragraph in my new document. What am I doing wrong? I am typing

Linking Captions to styles other than Headings

Footnotes in tables
We've got a table that goes on for many pages. Many cells are merged. The
table has footnotes now where the footnote number in the document is on one
page and the footnote itself is on another page. I'm sure that this has to
do with the fact that there are merged cells; however, I really cannot undo

Word 2007 Will not Update "Set Associations" to open doc. and docx
just installed office 2007. Previosly had 2003.. I went into "set
associations" to update the program used to open "Doc" and "docx" however it
would not update.
I go into browse and select the following path:

How to back reference a document?
Is there any way to link the page (or place) where we came from?
I have hyperlinks for the last page in many places throughout the
document. When I click it I can reach the last page. But If I want to
go back to the page where I came from, how do i do it?

Finding All Words with Specific Format -- via Macro
I'm trying to create a macro that will:
a) Find all words/terms in a doc that are formatted blue
b) Copy those words/terms and paste them into a (new) blank document
I've been able to do this manually (via Find/ Highlight All Occurrences/
Format(Font)/ Find All/ Copy/ New Doc/ Paste). However, I have not been able
to get a macro to contain these commands.
Any suggestions??
