Problem deleting a style/font
My document is showing a style of "Asian SimSun" that I want to get rid of.
The affected paragraphs show a style of "Normal +Asian SimSun". This doesn't
make any difference in the appearance of the Word 2003 document, but it is a
problem when the document is placed in InDesign. I have tried deleting the
font from the system and deleting the style/font from the styles, to no
avail. It won...

Outline view plus and minus
In the Outline view of Word 2007, you get little circles with either a plus
or minus sign in them at the beginning of the line. The plus seems to
control expanding or collapsing the text but I can't seem to figure out what
the minus sign does.

Rounding Up Numbers Merged from Excel into Word 2003
I have read all of the strings and advice and figured out the percentage
string. So thanks to everyone on that.
However, I still can't seem to get the correct string to round up the
numbers from Excel. For example, the number in Excel was rounded up from
17.5 to 18. When I merge it, it comes across as 17.5. I've tried a
variety of different things and just can't get it. The last...

Saving RTF file increase file size.
I have a RTF file (528 KB in size) created using Word2003. When I open this
file, add a couple words and save the file, the file size becomes over 8MB.
This file contains a couple images, and if I delete these images, the file
size do not increase this much. So Word is doing something with these two
small images.

Floating Graphic alignment
I'm new to Word 2007, so please forgive an elementary question. I am
unable to precisely place a graphic - it always snaps to what appears
to be a default position. The grid is turned off. The snap to Grid or
Other objects is turned off. No text is entered. Text wrapping is "in
front of text." I've tried with/without the drawing canvas. It

Generate a Word doc from Excel
I have an Excel file that contains headings that are used to create a word
doc for a training manual. Is there a way I can either auto populate the
Excel headings into Word or select what headings I need and create a macro
that would generate a word doc to populate with text?

How can I find identical text in two different documents?
I need to compare two theoretically entirely different documents and identify
any text that is identical in the two. How can I do this? I've played around
with Word 2007's Compare, Combine, Merge but I'm not seeing meaningful
results....

Print without stapler
Hi
We have a HP 4250 laserjet which we normally have on auto stapler
I am designing a large print run (from ms access) and one of the parts of
this is to call a small module to open word - print a doc - closes word
Problem is I know very little about word. I can't see the option to turn
off the stapler.
Any ideas

Copying Autotext entries in W2007
In Word 2007 I have a .dotm template with a number of logos loaded as
autotext.
I now want to copy these to other .dotm templates in a quick and
simple way as I still do when using Word 2003 under the Organizer
facility.
I tried using the Building Blocks.dotx as a half-way stage but this
removed them from there when saved into the .dotm template.
Can anyone help with this little challenge,...

How do I get Word to underline spelling errors?
Even though my proofing settings are set to check and mark spelling errors,
and my language option is similarly set, Word still won't underline spelling
errors. And when I get it to check the entire document, it doesn't find
errors, but says all is well. What else might be the problem?

Saved at 5:00 PM yesterday, all I did is gone.
For over 7 hours I worked on a document and many times throughout the day, I
saved it. At the end of the day, I saved it before closing the program.
Today when I opened it, it was like it was yesterday, no changes that i could
tell. I browsed in the autorecover folder under options, I enabled it weeks
ago to autosave every 10 minutes, only to find it empty. The only thing I

Can Page No. references embedded within a doc be auto updated?
I am writing a book and have embedded a few page numbers (for cross reference
within the book) both in the main text and in footnotes. Is there some way
in which these Page No's can automatically update when they change due to
changes in the scope and structure of the book?...

Send Word2007 by email but NOT as attachment
Dear all
I selected a WORD2007 template (christmas holiday) with a background frame
and would like to send it by email but NOT as attachment.
using "Mailing" result in an email with only the text. The frame is lost.

Styles in Word 2007
Could someone please help me... I am new to Word 2007.
I am trying to remove ALL STYLES in a document, which was created in Word
2003. I want to start afresh and create new styles.
It is frustrating that you have to wade through loads of styles, instead of
starting off with a short list of say 5 or 6 styles (that are needed in the
document).
Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Setting Up Automatic Numbering Within a Formatted Document
Hi,
I am trying to create raffle tickets in Word. I need to have each ticket
have the same number in two places on the ticket (the stub we keep and the
stub the purchaser keeps). I would like to be able to have the numbering
automatically advance on each ticket sequentially, but I have no idea how to
do this.
The numbers need to begin at 0001. Can anyone help me?

Text boxes - searching for them
Is there a way of searching for text boxes in Word. Or some other method of
locating text boxes in a long document. Some of the text boxes in this
particular document have no text and have no border. We are using Word 2000.
I've tried using Go to object, but nothing there seems to work.
