How do I type on three sides of a paper, bookfold style?
I would like to create a program for a play. Paper folded in half on
landscape. Front
page has the play name etc.,left inside full page of printed info, right
side full page of printed info. What tab settings do I use to produce such
an item?

word 2007 "compress Pictures" menu?
I write to seek your help with a problem I have in using word 2007 on my PC
with XP Pro. When I insert a picture into a document and wish to compress it,
I go to the ribbon- "format-adjust", but there is no option available there
to "compress pictures", only Brightness, Contrast and Recolor.
I understand that this option should be there; I thought this may require
some plug-in or down...

Word documents now in wordpad
Used Wordpad to open a Word file that Word said was unopenable.
Wordpad opened the file, copied text I wanted from the file and saved as a
Word file
Now all Word files are Wordpad.
How do I reconvert to Word
Tried reconversion winword /r and using explorer as suggested in other posts
still showing all files as Wordpad.
What do I try next?...

Importing text with style sheet names appended
Can you import text (devised in another program)with style sheet names
appended? If so how?
For example, with QuarkXPress, you can import text with style sheet names
before each paragraph of text like this:
@1. Heading: Broomstick poked through keyhole
@2. Subheading: Industrial accident reported at south side plant
The document being imported into already has a Style Sheet named both ...

change the font and background for viewing only?
Can I change the background color and font color for viewing purposes only -
ie, I still want the documents to print black text with no background.
I have visual problems and staring at a white background is hard to do. I
can change the background successfully, but I need to change the font to
something other than black to be easier to see on a black background.. but I
want the text to...

how to stop windows detecting and applying a language in a text?
I would like to have Windows NOT DETECTING automatically the languages in an
Office text. I work with mulitlingual texts and it is a real nightmare of red
lines! and windows does not remember my multilingual settings from one
session to the other!

Printing envelopes
Recently I have started to have problems printing envelopes from Word 2007 to
my HP 1020 printer. Everything looks fine on the preview pane of the
envelope tab, but when I print the address comes out all the way to the left
and there is no return address. I have updated drivers for my printer as
well as checked for all updates possible for Word. Nothing works. I still
get the address ...

English to Albanian dictionary?
A bit of a long shot I know :) My friend wants to send a doc to his
girlfriend back home - she only speaks Albanian. I tried to install the
online collins dictionary but the link in the Microsoft Website is broken.
Having looked on the web I'm not too sure that English to Albanian is very

Please advise , chinese word document open blank
Please advise if you can. Have office 2003 without SP3 and with SP3 and 2007
SP1 .When opening a word document that has chinese fonts opens blank ??
Document is created in office 97-2003 format. Have office compatibility pack
installed. The amazing part is another one of our machines with office 2003
without SP opens fine. Removed office and reinstalled with no success....

footnote disaster
I'm about to submit my Phd thesis, and (maybe due to using a few different
computers running different versions, also changing from footnotes to
endnotes..), I've just found the footnotes have lost their numbering. All
each footnote has by it is an upside-down 'L'. ANy ideas to fix it? I've

Stretching text in a text box
When I had used a Printmaster program in the past, I was able to type any
text available into a text box and it would automatically reformat the text
size to fit.
Is there a way to perform the same function in Word -- by using a text box?
(I can do it with WordArt but it creates two or three extra steps and since

Save as default to first line of text
I converted an old 2003 template to 2007. The Save feature on the old
would default to the first line of text. Well now it must have picked up
something and now always suggest Getting Started as the default file
name. Can I fix that?

Issue with right-to-left language formatting
I'm having an issue with text formatting in Word 2003 and 2007.
I'm working on a manuscript with someone from Israel. The Word document
they sent me is a bit buggy, and I am guessing it's from right-to-left
language support. I have opened the document on 5+ computers, using
both Word 2003 and Word 2007 and cannot fix the issue.

Text boxes
cI am using OmniPage Professional to scan in a textbook and convert to a Word
file. I do all my editing in Word. As I keep "show text boundaries"
available, I notice that occasionally part of a sentence is shortened
prematurely, surrounded by the dotted lines, signifying a short text box and
then the remainder of the sentence and article continues together from the
